Reçu trois fois le mauvais... vendeur injoignable. Dommage le jeu est très beau. Mais si vous le voulez vraiment en noir et blanc laissez tombé vous aurais un marron et blanc....Surtout que le noir est plus cher....

After extensive research and a strict criteria (high quality and large) I found this chessboard. The quality is stunning, beautiful in fact and at 21 inches it’s large. Looking at different chessboards elsewhere, this one represents excellent value for money, the pieces are weighted and the finish is exceptional. If you’re looking for a large chessboard, that’s practical and of a high quality then this is the one.

Bonne qualité générale, excepté le rangement intérieur en plastique léger et assez fragile qui n’est pas à la hauteur de la qualité du reste mais bon ce n’est pas le principal, en bref très bon pour le prix.

I wanted a a chess board that my kids could grow up playing on a "the family board". This is the size, heft, and hand-made quality that I wanted. The pieces feel substantial in your hand. The workmanship is wonderful. Personally, considering the details, I would say that it is worth 2-3x the price.That is not to say there are no negatives, and here they are:The board and pieces stunk when it was first opened. It was obviously from what was used to stain the wood and is understandable because any smell of the pieces was trapped in the box, but it did stink. I just left it in the garage for a few weeks before I brought it in. The smell doesn't stay forever, but it does need to air.Also, there isn't enough clear distinction between the king and queen. The look is too similar for my taste and the height is too close. It's not a big deal once you get used to the look, but more of a height difference would have been welcome.Bottom line:The negatives don't change my rating. The first you can just air it out to not be a problem, and the second is a personal preference and small irritation. I have seen no other chess board of similar size and heft that gives you the feel that this is how the game was classically played.Buy it, air it out first, and enjoy your games with a fine chess set.

Dimensions impressionnantes bien sûr, et bel aspect dans l'ensemble : finition artisanale, teinte naturelle du bois. Décoration un peu surchargée, kitch ou baroque selon les goûts, pièces très hautes, suffisamment lourdes et bien finies, plateau bien fini (sauf les lettres et chiffres tracés maladroitement qui détonnent, et sauf les rangements dans la "mousse verte qui pourraient être mieux dessinés pour mieux caler les pièces) . Mais je suis quand-même très satisfait, c'est un très bon rapport qualité-prix selon moi.A noter que j'ai connu au départ une déconvenue : Albatros m'a d'abord envoyé un jeu de backgammon par erreur ! J'ai signalé ça sur le site d'Amazon, et j'ai dû renvoyer le colis. Finalement ça s'est résolu, j'ai reçu le bon produit 4 jours après.
